About the Project:

Hackathon Politik is a first-of-its-kind youth hackathon aimed to inspire a reimagination of politics in Malaysia. The hackathon will involve youth between the ages of 18-30 to inspire greater political inclusion of all parts of Malaysia.

Job Description:

  • Support coordination and communication with competition participants

  • Assist project coordinator in planning and management of hackathon activities

  • Assist in workshop development and securing partnerships

  • Perform miscellaneous tasks such as note-taking and copywriting

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and conversant in English

  • Experience in project or event management, experience in non-profit/ politics / youth advocacy an advantage

  • Willingness to learn new skills and competencies

  • Versatile in handling people of different personalities under stressful circumstances

  • Independence in accomplishing tasks

  • Flexibility in working hours (weekends and weeknights)

  • Technology literate and able to work virtually with stable internet connection

  • Able to occasionally meet in the Klang Valley area

  • RM2,000 - RM3,000

  • Flexible leave days

  • Set own office hours

  • Assist in copywriting and simple designs for social media content

  • Assist in coordination and communication with media outlets

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and English

  • Experience in social media management (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

  • Experience in non-profit/ politics / youth advocacy an advantage

  • Willingness to learn new skills and competencies

  • Independence in accomplishing tasks

  • Flexibility in working hours (weekends and weeknights)

  • Knowledge in Facebook Ads Manager and Canva an advantage

  • Able to occasionally meet in the Klang Valley area
